Household Goods Relocation — Step-by-Step Process & Checklist

From the first survey call to the last carton in your new bedroom — exactly how a proper household move runs in Pakistan.

Household goods relocation process

Families ask us what actually happens between "we've decided to move" and "the sofa is in the new drawing room." The process is not mysterious — it's a series of small, predictable steps. Knowing them means you can spot a mover who skips the important ones. Our household goods relocation service follows this exact sequence on every job.

Step 1 — Free Survey and Quote

We visit your home, count the load, check floors, lifts and street access, and hand you an itemised quote. No number pulled from the air. This is also when we note fragile or awkward items — a grand piano, a treadmill, a glass dining table — so the crew comes prepared.

Step 2 — Confirm Booking and Packing Date

  • A 70% advance confirms the vehicle and trained crew
  • Packing date fixed around your handover
  • You get the crew lead's name and the truck number
  • Insurance, if taken, is noted on the consignment sheet

Step 3 — Packing and Inventory

Crews arrive with cartons, wrap and pads. Every carton is numbered and every major item ticked on an inventory sheet you sign. That sheet is your receipt of what left the old house — keep your copy safe. Furniture is dismantled where needed and edges wrapped so a staircase corner doesn't take a chip out of it.

Step 4 — Loading and Transit

Heavy and solid items go to the truck floor, light cartons on top, and fragile boxes against a padded wall. For long routes we use a closed container so dust and rain stay out. You get the driver's number and route updates — on Karachi to Lahore or Islamabad to Peshawar you're never in the dark about where your home is.

Step 5 — Delivery and Unpacking

At the new place we unload room by room against the inventory and place furniture where you ask. You check the count, note any concern on the delivery report, and pay the balance 30%. Want help unpacking? Say so at booking — we can set up beds and the kitchen so you sleep in a real home that night.

Your Pre-Move Checklist

  • Declutter and donate what you won't move
  • Keep CNIC, documents, jewellery and cash with you
  • Defrost and dry the fridge the night before
  • Pack a 'first night' bag: clothes, chargers, basics
  • Inform the society / landlord of move timing
  • Confirm the new address and gate access with the crew

For the packing side of this checklist, see our packers and movers service, which bundles inventory, materials and trained hands into one job.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the first step in household relocation?

A free pre-move survey. We visit, note the volume, floors and access, and give you an itemised quote. Never accept a price given only over the phone for a full house — the survey is what keeps it honest.

Do you provide an inventory list?

Yes. Every carton and major item is counted and numbered on a consignment sheet you sign at pickup. That list is your proof of what was loaded and what should arrive.

Can I track my household goods in transit?

Yes. On inter-city moves we share the driver contact and route updates, and our coordinators confirm key stops. You are never left wondering where your home is.

How should I prepare on moving day?

Keep personal documents, jewellery and cash with you. Defrost the fridge the night before, and have a small 'first night' bag with clothes and chargers. Let the crew handle the rest.

What happens at delivery?

We unload room by room against the inventory, place furniture where you want it, and you check the count before signing. Report any issue on the spot so it goes on the report.

How far in advance should I book?

Two to three weeks for local, three to four for inter-city, and earlier around Eid or June. Good crews and closed containers get booked out.
